Vice President, Risk Management
One of the world's largest foreign banks will open its first U.S. branch and will be located in NYC.
We are seeking a bilingual (English/Mandarin) VP Risk Management to startup, build and manage the function for the New York Branch. Responsibilities include ensuring that the Branch has a fully integrated risk management system that effectively indentifies and controls all major types of risk, including those that arise from new products and a changing business environment.
This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining the internal risk controls which include credit and market risk, as well as, operational, liquidity, compliance, legal and reputational risks.
Candidates must be bilingual in English and Mandarin and must have industry experience with an International Bank. Candidates should have a demonstrated cultural sensitivity and ability to liaise with local senior management and home office overseas. A strong hands-on orientation, roll-up-one’s-sleeves attitude and excellent interpersonal and communication ability is required.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant Risk experience is necessary and knowledge of computer-based risk management systems relevant to business activities conducted by the Branch is key. Bachelor’s degree required supplemented by appropriate special training in risk management. MBA degree preferred.
